ASAP (As Soon As Possible)

- a seminar about the healthy as well as the unhealthy aspects of working life.

In order to promote health and reduce the stress of everyday life certain measures must be taken, such as making new choices in life. Stepping off the treadmill and viewing everything from the outside is the first step to reaching that goal. The purpose of this seminar is to create that possibility and give you the tools and the knowledge on how to move towards a healthier life as well as a healthier workplace.

Peter Hellström & Catharina Nasenius

The dramatic session takes place in an organisation where the current project is led by project leader Annika. During the past four months she has watched the project team lose momentum and the probability of delivering on time is rapidly decreasing. One of her associates has been on sick-leave for a long time and a replacement has earlier been promised by Henrik, Annika’s supervisor. Meanwhile, Henrik has chosen to prioritise other projects. Annika pushes her team harder to try and reach the production target. Her colleague Mats accepts more and more work resulting in poor health and a crashed marriage. Sara is often home with sick children and feels bad about all the things she can’t find the time for. She cycles to work, takes long walks at lunch, and eats healthy in order to stay alive. Åke has been around for a long time and is hand-picked for the project. He’s not happy with his new tasks and feels out of place. How can this team survive?

· How do we replace unhealthy ways of life with healthy ones?
· What is the best case scenario?
· Is what’s best for the individual also what’s best for the organisation?
· Is it possible to create a workplace that is inspired, efficient as well as humane?

This seminar illustrates the issues that many establishments often face; such as lack of recources, deadlines, conflicts, lack of communication, ambiguous leadership, loyalties, lack of competence, overtime, uncertain terms of employment etc. Further, it offers the participants structural tools to help them analyse as well as influence their own lives and their situation at work. During the interactive part of the seminar, they will also have the opportunity to steer the characters of the play in a healthier direction. Finally, all participants receive a booklet for further reflection and inspiration.
